Scotland’s most senior judge took charge of the bench at Cromarty Courthouse Museum last Monday (4th April 2022). Lord Carloway, Lord President of the Court of Session, was visiting Cromarty and wanted to learn about the past legal proceedings
at the Courthouse and view this historic building. He was able to listen to trial recordings in the courtroom, conducted in Cromarty’s distinctive Fishertoun dialect, before touring the rest of the building to learn more of the history of this unique north Highland town.
