About this objectBritish halfpenny, minted in 1959. On the obverse (heads), it depicts Elizabeth II (1926-2022), Queen of the United Kingdom and Head of the Commonwealth realms (1952-2022). It also includes the abbreviated Latin phrase: "+ELIZABETH II DEI GRA:BRITT:OMN:REGINA F:D
M·G." which translates to "Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God, Queen of all the Britons Defender of the Faith". On the reverse (tails) side it includes, "HALF PENNY" and the date minted "1959", it also includes The Golden Hinde, Sir Francis Drake's Galleon.
