About this objectBritish florin, minted in 1966. On the obverse (heads), it depicts Elizabeth II (1926-2022), Queen of the United Kingdom and Head of the Commonwealth realms (1952-2022). It also includes the abbreviated Latin phrase: "+ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA" which translates to "Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God". On the reverse (tails) side, it depicts the Tudor rose in the center with thistles, leeks and shamrocks around it. It also includeds the Latin abrivated phrase "FID DEF:", meaning "Defender of Faith", as well as TWO SHILLINGS and the year 1966.
