About this objectTurner, minted 1663. On the obverse (heads), it depicts the crown of Charles II (1630-1685) as well as the letters C R II. Around the image is the abbreviated latin Text"CAR II D G SCO AN FR ET HIB R" meaning "Charles II, by the Grace of God, King of Scotland, England, France and Ireland". On the reverse (tails) side, is a thistile with the abbreviated latin TextNEMO ME IMPVNE LACESSET" meaning "No one shall hurt me with impunity".
