About this objectTwo Turners, minted sometime in the 17th century. On the obverse (heads), it either depicts the crown with C.R below it, and the abbrivated Latin "CAR D G SCOT ANG FRA ET HIB R" which means "Charles, by the Grace of God, King of Scotland, England, France and Ireland". This is in reference to Charles the First (1600-1649), King of Scotland, England and Ireland from 1625-1649. Or it could depict a crown with C.R II below it and the abbrivated Latin "CAR D G SCOT ANG FRA ET HIB R" which means "Charles, by the Grace of God, King of Scotland, England, France and Ireland" but this time in reference to Charles II (1630-1685), the King of Scotland, England and Ireland from 1660-1685. On the tailside, they are both identical with the a thistle on the back and the Latin abbrivated phrase "NEMO ME IMPVNE LACESSET" meaning "No one shall hurt me with impunity"
