Name/Title? William and Mary, halfpenny (1694)

About this objectHalfpenny, minted 1694. On the obverse (heads) it depicts King William III (1650-1702) and Queen Mary II (1662-1694) who were joint King and Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland from 1684 until Mary's death in 1694. Around the portrait is the Latin "GVLIELMVS ET MARIA" translated to "William and Mary". On the reverse (tails) side, it shows the personification of Britain, Britannia with an olive leaf on her left hand and a spear on the left next to a shield with the Union Jack on it. Around her, it says "BRITANNIA" and below her the date 1694.
