Name/TitleVictoria, sixpence (1898)

About this objectSixpence, minted in 1898. On the obverse (heads), it depicts an "old head" version of a veiled Queen Victoria (1819-1901), Queen of the United Kingdom (1837-1901) and Empress of India (1876-1901). Around the portrait, there is the Latin abbrivated Text"VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP" which translates to "Victoria by the grace of God, Queen of the Brittans, Defender of Faith, Empress of India". On the reverse (tails), at the top is the crown and around the coin is a wreath. In the middle it says "SIX PENCE" with the date at the bottom.
