About this objectTen new pence, minted 1974. On the observe (heads), it depicts a tiara wearing Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), Queen of the United Kingdom and commonwealth (1952-2022). Around the portrait is the abbreviated Latin "ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 1974" which translates to "Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, Queen, Defender of faith, 1974". On the reverse (tails), it depicts a lion with a crown, which represents England. Above it, it says "NEW PENNY" and below the lion it displays the value "10".
