Name/TitleVictoria, penny (1863)

About this objectPenny, minted in 1863. On the observe (head), it depicts a laureatred Queen Victoria (1819-1901), Queen of the United Kingdom (1837-1901) and Empress of India (1876-1901). Around the portrait has the abbreviated Latin "VICTORIA D G BRITT REG F D" which translates to "Victoria, by the grace of God, Queen of Britans, defender of faith". On the reverse (tails), it depicts Britannia, the personification of Britain, with a lighthouse on the left and a ship on the right. Above it said "ONE PENNY" and below the date 1863.
