The Cromarty History Society talk for March 2022 tells of the rebellion and resistance by enslaved Africans on the plantations of Guyana, between 1800 and 1840. The talk is given by David Alston, author of Slaves and Highlanders, and draws on his extensive research on the Scottish links to the slave plantations of the Caribbean and South America.

The talk starts at 7:30 on Thursday 24th March in the Old Brewery, Cromarty. £3 per person – all welcome.
