Rekindled in the Courthouse

Visit our new exhibition by local photographer Georgia Macleod, full of beautiful images taken from our local environment. Georgia credits her father, Peter Tilbrook, with her love of photography and her interest in the natural world. In Georgia’s own words:

I have always been drawn to the natural world and in particular, to the patterns, forms and textures found in everything from water, rocks and sand to foliage, skies and fungi. I like macro photography and finding little detail that can often be overlooked. Though I don’t limit myself to nature alone, you will see from my work that I’m also attracted to man-made items such as oil rigs, rust and decay as well as some street scenes, graffiti, pylons and turbines: basically if there are patterns, my attention is caught!

I also love creating abstract images some of which are straight from the camera but mostly they have come about by layering multiple exposures on top of each other. I experiment until I reach a point where I’m satisfied with the end result. Some folk are eager to find out what my abstract images ‘are’ but my answer tends to be, ‘whatever you want it to be!’ If I find it aesthetically pleasing, that’s all I’m striving for, and hopefully others will too.

I launched Rekindled Photography & Design in the summer of 2023 and developed the range of products you see here – a mix of montages, landscapes, small & medium mounted prints and my very popular canvas squares that can be hung on a small nail alone, in groups or framed.

Georgia’s work is available for sale, so visit and browse, and possibly treat yourself or a loved one to a beautiful gift.
