Romans in Scotland – Cromarty History Society
March 6, 2026

Many folk think that when it came to Scotland the Romans never came further than Hadrian’s Wall, but they did! Dr Andrew Newton is a retired NHS Emergency Medicine Consultant who has a longstanding interest in Roaman History and the history of healthcare. He undertakes regular work with museums, schools and history groups.

After the great success of his talk to us in 2024, he will be speaking about the Romans in Scotland to Cromarty History Society on Tuesday March 17th in the Victoria Hall, Cromarty at 7.30pm.

The meeting will be followed by refreshments. Visitors are welcome, each meeting costs £5, under 16s free. Further information on the Society’s programme can be found on the website at www.cromartyhistory.scot.
