We are delighted to be one of the the projects supported by Museums and Galleries Scotland as part of Scotland’s Year of stories 2022. Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022 is a celebration of stories inspired by, written, or created in Scotland. Stories are a vital part of Scotland’s culture and every community has a different tale to tell. There will be a host of events being held across Scotland this year, including here at Cromarty Courthouse. Keep your eyes peeled to see what we are planning for later this summer – we’ll certainly be creating a buzz!
As part of the Blairack project, Alice, Jay and Izzy are creating a “Humble Bee Map”. This will be a giant map which will trace the beelines around Cromarty.
This is where you cn be involved, the artists are looking for drawings of bees, wildflowers and potted plants. These will be used as markers on the map. They would love you to send in a simple drawing of one of these things by the 14th of August. Drawings can be handed into museum (open 12.00-16.00), or you can send us photos of your drawings via instagram or facebook messenger.
Together we can find out where the bees love to be.
